Where to begin?
We met Kelsi and Alex a couple months before their wedding and when we sat down we found out so many fun things about these two. However, one thing really stood out was the juxtaposition between their masculine and feminine energies. On their wedding day Alex planned to go to the shooting range with the guys… We knew that this was an important element of the day. Next we found out that Kelsi planned a really fun day with the girls at the nail salon. Ah Ha!!! Perfect! With their personalities, we knew this would make for a story element that would be unique to only them. Chris loved hanging out with the guys at the range! and Christine went out to shoot this once in a lifetime experience with the girls who had a whole nail salon open to only them.
What we didn’t know until the morning of the wedding was that Kelsi’s favorite movie opening was Legally Blond. I quickly watched it on my iphone and noticed the way the titling was mixed with very girly close-ups of nails, lips and eyes. Christine and I definitely wanted to add a little bit of this feeling to their film as well.
Their location was so beautiful. They found this great place called Clos LaChance WInery in San Martin. It was perfect as it had an amazing two bedroom suite that overlooked the vineyards and was the perfect place to get ready for the day. Their ceremony was out on the amazing lawn that was set with its back to the sun… and the reception was in the main area of the winery.
We were thrilled to also shoot with BreAnne and Luke of 1985 Luke Photography that day! We love shooting with them. You may remember them as one of our couples that we filmed 3 years ago. Well over the years they have become not only our friends, but a photography team that has really blossomed. They are super creative and fun to work with and really come up with some great images. On most occasions you will find Luke break dancing during the reception which is always a hit!
We just loved sharing in such a beautiful day with Kelsi + Alex. It was a day filled with love between all of their family and friends.
They also had such cute details… I will post some of our images that we took. I will also add the link to the incredible photos when we get the link from Bre and Luke, so you can see their amazing work!!!
For now enjoy their Next Day Edit…
